Joel Goldstrand

Goldstrand played on the 1957 Worthington, Minnesota High School state championship golf team.
He was part of an NCAA golf dynasty at Houston University. While there, he was part of two NCAA Championship teams.
Following college graduation in 1961, he went on to play competitive golf. Joel played on the PGA Tour from 1965 to 1973. He competed in The Masters. His best Tour finish was at The New Orleans Open in 1969, where he finished 1 stroke behind the winner.
Joel served as the Golf Professional at Minneapolis Golf Club for 16 years.
Joel designed a number of golf courses, the majority of which are located in Minnesota. Joel is known for building good, not great, golf course. A large factor in this was budget. He worked wonders with the small budgets allocated producing enjoyable courses, usually better than what should have been expected..
